Julian Fraser was this week announced as the new CEO of the Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA).

Fraser, formerly the National Relationship Manager - Aviation for QBE Insurance Australia, replaces outgoing CEO Paul Tyrrell, who has accepted a directorship with the newly-formed Australian Helicopter Industry Future Foundation.

“Julian’s in-depth knowledge of our industry including a history of strong commercial relationships, as well as a passion for safety, will enable the AHIA to expand its reach across our sector,“ said AHIA president Ray Cronin.

AHIA states that Fraser "has a broad knowledge of the aviation industry after holding senior positions in aviation insurance. Embedded in these roles is a wholistic understanding of regulations, the effectiveness of the same and the impacts of change."

Fraser will start in the new role on 5 December.
