CASA earlier this month published a plain English guide to CASR Part 133, which covers the rules for air transport operations in rotorcraft.

Plain English guides (PEG) are produced to simplify legal language in which aviation regulations are drafted.

"The guide is designed to save people in the aviation community from having to search through regulations and standards for the information they need," CASA says.

"It simplifies complex regulatory language, offering practical insight to help operators remain compliant."

The Part 133 PEG covers CASR Part 133, the Part 133 Manual of Standards (MOS) and CASR Part 119 of CASR as it applies.

includes information needed for operators stick with the rules when carrying passengers for hire or reward, such as:

  • carrying passengers
  • carrying cargo
  • conducting medical transport operations
  • what needs to go in anexposition
  • regulations and standards
  • relevant parts of exemption.

CASA currently has the Part 133 PEG available as a PDF download, and plans to make hard copies available by the end of the year.

The PDF version can be downloaded from the CASA website.
