Wings of Life RFDS charity weekend nears
All pilots are being invited to attend the 'Wings of Life Fly in - Drive in' Royal Flying Doctor Service charity event in Queensland next weekend.
Wings of Life is a charity organisation formed to raise funds for, and awareness of, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the vital work they do. The organisation was formed by young Brisbane pilot Douglas Field, who is currently undertaking an aviation degree at Griffith University.
On the weekend of May 14-15, Wings of Life will stage the RFDS fundraiser event at Archer Falls Airfield in Kilcoy, northwest of Brisbane. The event will feature a wide display of aircraft including vintage, ultralight, and warbird types as well as a range of more common GA aircraft.
Trial Introductory Flights will be offered for those considering actively getting into aviation. There’ll also be adventure flights on offer, model aerobatic displays, market stalls, live music, a BBQ dinner and a bar.
Camping spots will be available on site at a cost of $5 per head, but for catering purposes bookings are essential.
The event kicks off from 1700 on Saturday May 14 and runs until 1500 on Sunday May 15. For further information on the event click here, or click here to email Douglas directly. And to read more about Wings of Life itself click here.
