The Tecnam P2006T light twin has been issued type acceptance certificates from both CASA and New Zealand's Civil Aviation Authority.

Giovanni Nustrini, Managing Director of exclusive local distributor Tecnam Australasia Ltd, says the approval marks a major milestone for the versatile P2006T.

“With the first four P2006T Next-Generation twins already operating in Australasia, we look forward to many more of these quiet and very efficient aeroplanes gracing our beautiful skies,” Nustrini says.

Tecnam Managing Director Paolo Pascale says endorsement of the P2006T from both the Australian and New Zealand aviation regulators builds on similar recent approvals from both the US and Russia.

“We have already delivered over 50 P2006T Next-Generation twins, and with over 100 more on order we have now accelerated production to meet this unprecedented demand,” Pascale says. “We are now delivering a Tecnam  P2006T every five days.”

The arrival of the Tecnam P2006T fills a gap in the light twin-engine aircraft market which, save for a few exceptions, has been underserved with new models for some time. With its low operating costs, the P2006T offers an affordable multi-engine solution – and as John Absolon mentions in his flight test of the aircraft in the current issue of Australian Flying, the P2006T is a great choice for personal transport or as an IFR twin trainer.
