Piper Aircraft has appointed Moorabbin-based Piper Australia Aircraft Sales as its new Australian sales agent.
Piper Australia Aircraft Sales Pty Ltd is associated with pilot training organisation Moorabbin Flying Services, which itself boasts an all-Piper fleet that's dominated by a number of very new aircraft.
Piper's director of marketing, Jackie Carlon, made the announcement at the Piper stand at the Avalon Airshow, where Moorabbin Flying Services is displaying a Piper Matrix, Warrior and Seminole from its training fleet.
"We have chosen one of the most experienced Piper flying organisations in Australia to be our new aircraft sales agent," Carlon said.
"As we expand our global visibility it will be a great help that Piper Australia Aircraft Sales knows our aeroplanes inside and out."
Brian Jones, CEO of Piper Australia Aircraft Sales, expressed equal optimism about the appointment.
"We are so delighted to be Piper Aircraft's new aeroplane sales agent in Australia," Jones said. "We are looking forward to working with the company to expand its presence here."
Given the relatively long, and admittedly conspicuous, absence of an official Piper sales and distribution representative in Australia, this appointment bodes well for both the manufacturer and potential customers in this part of the world.
