Hawker Pacific's Brisbane-based Hawker Pacific Component Services has been granted a One-Off Production Certificate  accreditation from CASA allowing them to manufacture and release aircraft parts accompanied by a CASA Form 1 release certification.

The company can now manufacture spare parts for multiple aircraft types that are obsolete, or where the spares have long lead-times or are uneconomic to purchase through traditional means.

Doug Park, Chief Operating Officer for the Pacific Region, says the certificate will assist Hawker Pacific to reduce cost for operators by reducing non-recurring engineering costs for customers while also reducing downtime.

“The award of the One-Off Production Certificate means Hawker Pacific can improve the economies of scale we can provide to our Fleet Operator customers," he explained.

"As an example, by manufacturing items in job lots with the ability to hold multiple quantities of specific items on the shelf and ready to go, we can reduce supply chain delays and by extension aircraft down time is also compressed during heavy maintenance activities.”

Hawker Pacific Component Services has a fully-equipped machining workshop with modern CNC vertical machining centre and CNC lathe. Hawker Pacific’s machinists can now manufacture and release precision aircraft parts, particularly useful for customers with older aircraft.

“The granting of CASA’s One-Off Production Certificate is an exciting step for Hawker Pacific," Park said. "Together with the team at the Component Services business unit we look forward to getting on with it and doing what we do best in providing innovative solutions to the market."
