Avidyne-Australasia will provide customer support and exchange depot services to Avidyne’s customers, distributors, and limited service centers throughout Australia, New Zealand and southeast Asia.

Director and Engineering Manager of Pacific Avionics, Brad Granger (pictured), told Australian Flying Avidyne has been seeking a local support centre for some time, with the differing time zones serving as the primary motivation for the US-based company.

“We are quite excited to have been selected by Avidyne to run their Avidyne-Australasia Support Center,” Granger says.

“We have a terrific and long-standing relationship with Avidyne and we believe we are uniquely positioned to provide world-class telephone support and quick-turn exchange services for all of Avidyne’s customers operating throughout the region.

“It’s been a long time in the making; this latter part of the dealership for the support centre really came together in the last six months.

"We’ve been doing business with Avidyne for about five or six years already.”

Support staff at the Sydney facility will liaise with customers in processing Return Material Authorisations (RMAs), verifying warranty status, and addressing general customer support questions and concerns.

Granger says this will simplify and streamline customer service and minimise waiting periods.

“One of the first questions everybody asks when they want to buy some of these new products is, ‘who’s supporting it out here?’.

"Very few people like to buy orphans.

“It means we can ship stuff to them the next day pretty much – we still have to have some overnight approvals from Avidyne, but it’ll cut down the delays from the factory.

"It means that we can configure equipment for them and also we can check and verify some of the equipment before we ship it back to Avidyne, which can cut down on sending back equipment that may not be faulty.”
