Jeppesen, Boeing's navigation services subsidiary, has become the first founding partner of the Wagga-based Australian Aviation Hall of Fame.

The Australian Aviation Hall of Fame (AAHOF) was established last year by a group of
aviation industry veterans headed by Chairman Geoff Breust, who announced today that Jeppesen has committed to a sponsorship deal involving $75,000 over five years.

“Jeppesen is the first major aviation organisation and first founding partner to
come on board,” he said. “Its contribution will enable us to commence work in developing the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame from an idea to a special program honouring our aviation pioneers.”

Jeppesen General Manager Aviation, Thomas Wede, added that the company valued the immeasurable contributions of aviation pioneers.

“Jeppesen shares in the spirit of innovation and transformation put forth by those who will be honoured by the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame,” Wede said.

The first goals of the AAHOF include the establishment of a virtual Hall of Fame in the form of an interactive website and an annual gala ceremony to induct nominees. Ultimately the Hall of Fame will be a physical display suitably housed to honour all inductees in a facility in Wagga Wagga. It is an incorporated association with membership available to all aviation industry associations, unions and major airlines based in Australia.

“Australia has a wealth of aviation history,” Breust explains. “In particular, it has many individuals and organisations who have not only made a huge contribution here in Australia, but to aviation across the world. Our vision is to honour them in a national facility to not only recognise their efforts but to inspire our future generations.

“We are actively seeking funding from five founding partners to get the Hall of Fame flying. Now that Jeppesen has led the way I am sure other organisations will join us in bringing this very worthwhile initiative to fruition.”
