The Sir Donald Anderson Trophy, sponsored by CASA, was awarded to the three women pilots with the highest aviation exam results over the past year.

And the winners are:
* First place: Rebecca Zola, a Qantas cadet from Victoria;
* Second place: Rhoda Ilave, from Papua New Guinea; and
* Third place: Clair Trangmar, who is currently instructing at Coolangatta airport and is aiming to win a place in a large airline.

As well as their silverware, the award winners receive prize money, with $3000 for first place, $2000 for second and $1000 for third.

The Australian Women Pilots' Association is current celebrating its 60th anniversary and held its annual general meeting and awards presentations at Ballarat in March.

It’s no secret that aviation is generally a male-dominated industry, so it’s great to see the other gender being recognised for their efforts. Find out more about the Australian Women Pilots’ Association here.
