Australia's largest regional airshow returns to Shellharbour Airport on the NSW South Coast on 16-17 May, with a program that includes three flying Spitfires, the world's only airworthy F4U-1D Corsair, and a pair of stunts that have never been attempted at the event before.
Wings Over Shellharbour, the only major airshow within easy reach of both Sydney and Canberra, is expected to draw more than 15,000 visitors across the weekend. The show is now managed by Paul Bennet Airshows.
The Spitfire lineup includes a Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX making its debut appearance — the only two-seat Spitfire in the Southern Hemisphere. The Corsair, one of the most visually striking fighters of World War II, will also make its Shellharbour debut.
Bennet's own Wolf Pitts Pro display will open with a drag race against a supercar and conclude with a knife-edge runway pass while an FMX rider backflips over the aircraft. Later in the program, Bennet will land a Piper Cub on the back of a moving truck.
The 2026 program also features the Sky Aces Formation Team, the Air Force Roulettes and the Royal Australian Navy. On the ground, the HARS Aviation Museum will open with more than 16 static aircraft on display, including the Lockheed Super Constellation Connie, the only operational example of the type.
A free Careers Day for secondary school students will be held on Friday 15 May, delivered in partnership with the AMDA Foundation.
Australian Flying will be on site on Saturday 16 May to host the CASA/Australian Flying Wings Awards ceremony at the HARS Aviation Hall of Fame, from 10am to noon. The awards celebrate outstanding contributions to general aviation in Australia, with morning tea provided. Places are limited to 50 guests and show-goers are welcome to attend.
