Registrations have opened for exhibitors and sponsors for this year's AusFly event at Narromine.

AusFly runs from 17-21 October and is organised by the Australian General Aviation Alliance, of which both AOPA Australia and the Sport Aircraft Association of Australia (SAAA) are the driving forces.

The event is run on a not-for-profit basis with the aim of bringing together all aspects of general aviation to foster a community spirit within the industry.

The exhibition is planned to be set up in a "village" style arrangement on the hard stand in front of the aero club. Unlike most other aviation expos, there is no exhibition charge, but companies are being asked to take out one of the sponsorship packages being offered, which range from the $150 Bronze package to the $2000 Platinum package.

Exhibitors are also expected to supply their own stand infrastructure including shell frame, tables and chairs.

According to AusFly, the expo will be only one part of what the event has to offer.

"There will be aircraft static and flying displays, educational sessions and industry exhibitors," an AusFly spokesperson said. "This is the opportunity to get up and close with aircraft, discover an amazing part of Australian aviation history at the Narromine Aviation Museum, and simply catch up with fellow aviators and like-minded people."

AusFly is scheduled for just four weeks after Airventure Australia, which will be held at Parkes, just 100 km south of Narromine, making NSW's western plains for one month the general aviation hub of Australia.
