The Bureau of Infrastructure Transport and Regional Economics study into the general aviation industry is still being finalised.

The report was first due on 30 June, but the deadline was extended to late August in order to make sure input from key stakeholders could be included.

According to the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development (DIRD), the report is not yet complete.

"The BITRE report team is currently finalising the draft report," a DIRD spokesperson told Australian Flying today. "The draft report will be provided to the General Aviation Advisory Group for comment and then be finalised.

"The Minister will be briefed on the report this month."

The General Aviation Advisory Group is made up of industry people with expertise across most GA operations, which is the reference group for the BITRE study.
