AvSoft, the developers of the AvPlan Electronic Flight Bag, this week announced the release of a complete version for Android devices.
The new software has been built-up from scratch to replace the AvPlan Lite app and is nearly identical to the popular iOS version.
"As many of our customers are cross-platform users," said AvPlan Android Developer Edgar Olyerhoek, "which means they may have an Apple iPad, but an Android phone or smart watch. Our goal is for the user experience to be the same regardless of the make of the device.
"Soon AvPlan EFB will as the same app seamlessly across the different devices. If transitioning from one brand to another, all data, including notes etcetera, will sync automatically across the devices.
AvPlan's Android version will contain all the features of the iOS version including the VFR mega map, flight planning, NAIPS connection, direct-to navigation, weather overlays, airspace and NOTAMs and geo-referenced airport diagrams.
More information is on the AvPlan EFB website.
