Bell this week announced it had delivered the 300th Bell 505 Jetranger X only four years after the first customer delivery.

The 505 is a five-seat, single-engine, turbine that was designed to be the safest and easiest aircraft to fly in its category while still remaining affordably priced. It has a cruise speed of 125+ knots, a range of over 360 nm and useful load of 680 kg.

The first Bell 505 was delivered in 2017, and today there are 300 aircraft in operation across six continents, with operators logging more than 70,000 global fleet hours.

“The Bell 505 is one of Bell’s fastest growing commercial programs to date, surpassing several significant milestones since its inception,” said Michael Thacker, Executive Vice President, Innovation and Commercial Business.

“As we continue to see interest for the aircraft in Public Safety, Utility and Corporate transport, Bell has invested in new products and technologies to expand the Bell 505’s capabilities.”

The 300th example was taken on strength by the Jamaica Defence Force to add to its five other 505s. The aircraft will be used in support of public safety operations and to train helicopter pilots.
