The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) is seeking input from pilots that have had issues dealing with the CASA Aviation Medicine Branch.

In an e-mail to members, CEO Aaron Stephenson outlined concerns that complaints regarding AVMED are not getting through to the right people.

"AOPA is concerned that AVMED/CASA and the Minister are not aware as to the extent of medical grievances currently suffered by pilots in Australia.

"We are currently preparing correspondence to go to AVMED/CASA and the Minister and would like to include a petition/feedback from members who are currently experiencing problems with AVMED. This will allow us to demonstrate the widespread impact of the problems with AVMED."

Pilots and members who want to provide AOPA with details of problems with their medicals should contact Aaron Stephenson directly.
