Development problems have delayed the entry into service of the Cessna JT-A until the second quarter of 2015.

The Safran diesel-powered C182 replacement was intially due for certification this year, but issues including an engine failure in August have put back the project.

Cessna's Wichita production line is believed to have changed tooling over from the standard model C182 Skylane, which has put the company in a position where they can't deliver either product.

According to the Q3 figures released by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, Cessna delivered no C182s for the quarter.

JT-A is powered by a 227-hp SMA Safran diesel engine that will burn 41 lph, a range of 1160 nm and cruise speed of 155 knots.

The inital sell price has been set at $US515,000.
