Diamond Aircraft's new DA42-VI will tour the east coast of Australia in October and November. A demonstration aircraft is expected to arrive at local agent Hawker Pacific this week.

The aircraft is the latest upgrade to Diamond's successful DA42 light twin, featuring increased performance and payload, improved airframe, new propellers and strengthened landing gear.

Hawker Pacific’s Vice President, Aircraft Sales, Nick Jones said, “the Diamond DA42-VI has a number of features that set it apart from the DA42-NG. In particular, the 100 kg payload increase and the enhanced aerodynamics of the airframe, along with strengthened landing gear to accommodate it.

"This, combined with its improved performance, comfort and, of course, the extremely low operating cost, makes the DA42-VI a suitable choice for both private flying and flight training.

“The aircraft’s extended range, long endurance, advanced avionics and the astoundingly low fuel consumption of the Jet-A1-powered engine means you’ll have everything you need, and more, whatever your mission.”

Powering the DA42-VI are two 168-hp Austro AE300 diesel engines running on Jet A-1, which, when combined with the new airframe design, add a remarkable 20 knots to the maximum speed - 197 KTAS compared with the NG's 177.

The aircraft will be available for demonstrations to customers in NSW, Vic, QLD and SA before heading off to New Zealand. For tour dates, times and locations, contact Hawker Pacific.
