Red Bull Air Race will finish the year on home turf after an Austrian round was substituted for the postponed race in China.

The race will take place 25-26 October at the Red Bull-owned Red Bull Ring at Speilberg, site of this years Formula One Austrian Grand Prix.

Austrian World Champion Hannes Arch said he was pleased that he had the chance to take another series win in front of his home crowd.

"I think it's really great that the showdown for the 2014 season will be held in Austria," he said. "That corner of the world loves the race. We saw in Rovinj in April how many fans the sport has. It would be a dream come true for me if I can hold on to win the championship in my home country."

The new fixture marks a complete circle for Red Bull Air Race; the very first event having been held at Zeltweg, Austria, in 2003. It was the first and only time a round of the series has been held in Red Bull's home country.

The next round is in Gdynia, Poland 26-27 July. Aussie Matt Hall is currently fifth in the standings and will be looking to build on his podium finish scored in the last race in Malaysia.
